The Gallery @Montague, a pop up art gallery showcasing the work of local artists and photographers, launched in Worthing’s Montague Quarter on Thursday 12th April 2018 with a private view attended by over 150 local people.
With an official opening by Tim Loughton MP, who commented on how “fantastic it is to see such an array of local creativity” guests enjoyed discovering the work of 30 artists.
Alan Humphries the photographer who organised the gallery comments, “Offered the opportunity to take on a vacant unit in Montague Quarter, it’s been fantastic to work with 30 local creatives and help them raise their presence in the community, whilst bringing the space to life.”
Ian Goodridge, Montague Quarter Manager comments, “As a community shopping centre we’re keen to support local creatives. Following the success of our Christmas pop up gallery in December, this is a great opportunity for artists to showcase their work in a high footfall, town centre location.”
Located next to HMV, the gallery is open 10am-4pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for 7 weeks and offers a multi-media mix of art, photography and sculpture.
